In 1991, Nike introduced a concept that allowed their footwear to display even more air cushion. Created by designers Tinker Hatfield and Bruce Kilgore, these shoes became the first collaborative project between Kanye West and Nike, laying the groundwork for models like the Yeezy 2 SP Red October. In their original Ultramarine colorway, they were also favored by Michael Jordan during the legendary ""Dream Team"" at the '92 Barcelona Olympics.
